BackLink Africa is an integrated digital marketing company focused on search engine optimization, social media marketing, email marketing, and analytics. We are currently hiring a Content Writing Specialist who will be responsible for creating news articles and opinion pieces across our portfolio of websites focused on politics, African history, entrepreneurship, and sports.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for individuals who have empathy and can connect with our readers by writing content that is engaging and easy to understand. Specifically, successful applicants for this position will have the following attributes:

• They have a demonstrated passion for at least one of the following topics: African politics, African history, entrepreneurship in Africa, sports news.
• They enjoy sharing their thoughts and ideas with others through writing.
• They have some familiarity with content creation on the internet, such as blogging or writing for different news websites.
• They have some familiarity with working with global teams that are not located in one specific location.
• They have reliable access to a computer and a good internet connection.

In addition to the above interests, successful candidates need to be highly motivated, honest, and quick learners, given the fast-paced nature of our work. To succeed in this specific role, you need to have good communication (written and verbal) skills, and you must be creative.

Compensation

Our compensation comprises a fixed base pay per article ($5 per article) and a bonus component based on how readers engage with your article. In any given month, you are allowed to write a maximum of 10 articles. If, for example, in a given month you write 10 articles that generate traffic of 20,000 page views, you will be paid $70.
