Emthonjeni Women’s Forum (EWF) is an organisation that works on preventive and responsive measures on GBV. As a strategy towards addressing GBV, EWF is focused on strengthening women’s economic independence so that they are better able to make informed decisions about their lives. To this end, EWF seeks a consultant to develop a handbook on business management skill, marketing & financial literacy for rural women in Income Lending and Savings groups (ISALS).


Background to the consultancy

Emthonjeni Women’s Forum is conducting an intervention titled "Strengthening the Agency of Women to Fight GBV and Claim their Rights." Under this program, EWF seeks to contribute towards a gender justice and Gender Based Violence intolerant society. Under the program, EWF seeks a consultant to develop a hand book that will support women who are in ISAL groups towards strengthening their financial literacy, marketing and business management skills.


Tasks under this consultancy

The consultancy will be expected to develop a handbook that will assist women with knowledge on financial literacy, marketing and business management skills.


Deliverables

The consultancy will be responsible for the following deliverables: Development of a financial literacy, marketing and business management handbook; Engage community women on the kind of businesses they are engaged in; Submission of first draft for input; Submission of final draft for printing; Take the women through the handbook.


Duration

The detailed assignment timelines will be agreed on with the successful candidate.


Bid format

Technical and financial proposals not exceeding 3 pages should be submitted to EWF including a resume of not more than 3 pages. A sample of similar work done previously should be submitted.


Qualifications, experience, and a sample of work

Advanced degree in Business Management or related field with experience in development work. A qualification in gender studies will be an added advantage. More than 5 Years’ experience in related work.
