Description :

Call for Consultancy to Conduct a Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA): SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe

Deadline: 17 November 2020

Background information

SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe is a non-governmental child development organization established in Zimbabwe in 1983. Its mission is to build families for children in need, help them shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities. It is a member of SOS Children’s Villages International, which is currently working in 136 countries and territories. In Zimbabwe SOS Children’s Villages is implementing various child and youth development interventions focusing on the provision of direct essential services; capacity building of child care-givers/families, government and community partners; as well as advocacy in the areas of care.

Conducting a child rights situation analysis (CRSA) is not a snapshot exercise but a process which becomes a routine organisational development and analysis tool in an evidence-based programme management and planning cycle. Furthermore, doing a child rights situation analysis bears the great opportunity to put children at the centre and look at their situation holistically to get new insights and a deeper understanding of what affects their lives, to make visible and address the most vulnerable groups of children and families and to identify possible future cooperation partners.

Objective of the assignment

The general objective of the consultancy is to conduct a Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) to establish benchmarks and obtain reliable data, which informs programme identification, design and advocacy. The call is therefore serving to invite qualified consultants with specified experience to support SOS Zimbabwe in completing the assignment.
