CHAI Zimbabwe is a trusted advisor to the MoHCC and works to contribute to an overarching goal of having the highest quality treatment available, at sustainable prices for all patients in the country. The Associate's key deliverable with be to ensure that systems are in place to allow for uninterrupted supplies of health commodities in support of UNTIAID-funded public health initiatives in Zimbabwe while improving commodity availability at the last mile. He/She will provide direct procurement and supply chain management support to Ministry of Health and Child Care and the CHAI Access Programs. He/She will be expected to develop and manage a wide array of services for health commodity procurement and related systems strengthening technical assistance encompassing different elements of a comprehensive supply chain. Scope of Work : Pharmaceutical and Laboratory Supply Chain Management The Associate will be part of the CHAI Access Team which is responsible for improving central level down to health facility level availability of health commodities. He/She will also be required to provide quality assurance support for the program's parallel supply chain activities, including liaising with the warehousing and distribution service providers and the MCAZ on matters of product registration and importation. S/he will represent CHAI in HIV/TB related discussions and will collaborate with MOHCC and other stakeholders in data collection, aggregation and dissemination in relation to procurement and supply chain activities. As the procurement and supply chain specialist, he/she is expected to work with the program-specific specialists to define and prioritize activities, agree on performance metrics, and to continuously follow up and support team members to achieve agreed-upon goals. He/she will be responsible for increasing the use of data and information for commodity-related decision-making, and effective support to program coordinating mechanisms, improving data quality at all levels of supply chain activity in country, building capacity of regional/district staff who supervise health facility commodity management, designing and rolling out innovations to increase reporting rates and increase access to information on key supply chain data, in addition to supporting the streamlined roll-out of cross-cutting supply chain systems strengthening initiatives. He/she will coordinate and provide technical support to the Access programs (HAP/LABS/TB) and in implementing work plan activities to that end. She/he must build needed external and internal relationships and with all other program teams for the needed synergies and coordination that will mutually benefit all members and initiatives of the team. Responsibilities Work with team members to develop detailed quarterly implementation plans (ensuring data driven planning) and activity budgets, and monthly cash flow projection based on the annual work plan. Provide oversight to the planning and implementation of programme-specific national quantification exercises, monthly stock status monitoring and pipeline updates and monthly distribution planning for health commodities. Conduct performance management activities with commodity security team members within MOHCC including regular progress and performance review meetings. participate in annual work plan development ensuring that team members' suggestions and inputs are considered during the process. Prepare and submit regular and timely progress reports on the collective activities of the team. Participate in the preparation and/or review of the project's technical reports/documents, as requested by the Country Director and donors.
