Apply For: International scholarships for non-Canadians
The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program strives to reduce poverty and promote sustainable development in the ASEAN region. Through scholarships and educational exchanges, SEED facilitates the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, SEED helps to foster closer people-to-people ties between Canada and the Indo-Pacific region.
Scholarships funded by SEED are made possible through agreements between Canadian post-secondary institutions and their counterparts in ASEAN countries that promote student exchange and collaboration.
Global Affairs Canada's International Scholarships Program includes the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development Program, which is a Short-term Exchange Program.

How funding works
- Canadian institutions will receive funding from Global Affairs Canada, through its legal name, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) in the form of a non-negotiable contribution agreement and will be responsible for providing the funds to successful students according to its internal processes. Should a student not take up the scholarship, Canadian institutions must return all funds, including the administrative fee, to DFATD.
