As part of ZELA’s desire to strengthen its position in resource governance and to exploit future opportunities in advocacy and capacity building in environmental law and policy, ZELA seeks an AIEL Coordinator to strengthen coordination (vertical and horizontal) across sectors at national, regional and global levels and development partners as well as facilitate realization of the AIEL objectives. Duties and Responsibilities The AIEL Coordinator will be contracted by ZELA but will be focused primarily on delivering on the core objectives of the AIEL. S/he will work directly under the day to day supervision of the ZELA Director and Deputy Director. The AIEL Coordinator can request guidance and support from ZELA team members as needed. The Director and Deputy Director of ZELA will be jointly responsible for periodic performance monitoring evaluation against key result areas and periodically set targets. The Coordinator for AIEL will be based at ZELA to support the AIEL implementation process, including coordinating of the AIEL Strategic Plan, advise on and support the implementation and resources mobilization for the Strategic Plan, build synergies across sectors, development partners and monitor the progress of Strategic Plan implementation. In addition to this, the Coordinator will also support the alignment of the AIEL Strategic Plan to that of ZELA and play a role in mobilisation of financial resources to support implementation.
