About the organization

Zim-TTECH is seeking highly qualified and experienced applicants to be considered for the position of Administration and Logistics Manager. The position will be based in Harare. Zim-TTECH's activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases. Zim-TTECH is funded by PEPFAR through the Center for Disease Control to implement HIV & TB treatment and care services in five Zimbabwean provinces in support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) under the Zim-PAAC (Zimbabwe Partnership to Accelerate AIDS Control) program. Zim-TTECH is implementing the DREAMS program in four districts in Matebeleland North province. Zim-TTECH also supports Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) services in Zimbabwe. The contract of employment is renewable yearly subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance of the candidate.


Position summary

The Administration and Logistics Manager position oversees the procurement, stores, fleet, property management and day to day administration functions of the organisation.


Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devising ways to streamline processes. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the administrative and logistics departments and staff members. Develop, review, and improve administrative systems, policies, and procedures. Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance. Provide guidance on the maintenance and deployment of vehicles for field trips. Oversee renovation and maintenance activities. Provide oversight on the procurement function. Monitor inventory levels and the purchasing of new material with attention to budgetary constraints. Develop internal controls to ensure protection of assets. Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements. Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.


Qualifications, skills and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Administration or equivalent. A relevant master’s degree (e.g., MBA). Be a member of a professional body (e.g., CIPS, CILT). At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to negotiate with vendors. Demonstrated problem solver. Understanding of information technologies.
