Job Description

Job Summary The Accountability Officer will be responsible for supporting and upholding the commitment to accountability of this project to beneficiaries and communities across targeted districts and provinces at all stages of the response.  Key duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans  weekly, monthly and quarterly project activities
  • Conducts induction and capacity building of staff on humanitarian accountability framework
  • Establishes relevant complaints and feedback mechanisms in target communities
  • Follows up on accountability issues emanating from the field, in coordination with field staff, and devising action plans to resolve issues
  • Supports process monitoring of activities by and with partner staff and provides constant feedback to project staff
  •  Provides inputs into the learning agenda by assisting with the identification of case studies and most significant change stories for documentation
  • Works with M&E Team  to assess the project’s adherence to CARE’s humanitarian accountability framework
  • Shares weekly and monthly project activity plans with lead agency staff and in liaison with the Specialists
  • Develops and maintains district database of key project stakeholders
  • Ensures that IASC core principles and Safeguarding standards are met and maintained accordingly
  • Reports cases of suspected SHEA to the Emergency Coordinator, and or relevant stakeholders
  • Ensures that Safeguarding information is disseminated to the relevant stakeholders
  • Inputs into the Project quarterly and final reporting for the project
 

Qualifications

Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Degree in Humanitarian Response, Development Studies, Social Work or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in gender and women/girls rights and empowerment programming, community development and training/facilitation and/or education
  • Experience developing or working within a humanitarian accountability framework
  • Superior training and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional planning and organizing skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
