CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organization that specializes in sexual health, HIV and AIDS research in Zimbabwe. CeSHHAR in collaboration with the MOHCC and NAC is implementing a National Sex Work Programme aimed at reducing HIV acquisition and transmission among female, male and transgender sex workers thereby reducing HIV transmission and acquisition to and from their clients. Low consistent condom use, risk of drug use and increasing transactional sex are some of the common reasons that put these key populations at risk of acquiring STI and HIV infection. Therefore, reaching these populations and increasing awareness and access to STI & HIV prevention, testing and treatment services are fundamental to reducing transmission of STI and HIV infections.


Job description

Under the overall supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for carrying out accounting and financial management duties in order to meet the expectations of senior management, staff, donors, auditors, statutory requirements and other interested stakeholders. The incumbent will be performing the following tasks: Supervising the capturing of accounting data from source documents to the books of original entry; Review adequacy of supporting documents before payments are made; Updating the ledgers on the accounting package, preparing bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations; Assisting the Finance Manager and Administration in monitoring cash flow position of CeSHHAR in order to avoid overdrafts and disruptions to projects activities due to lack of funds; Assisting in liaising with project managers in budget preparations and implementation; Track budget utilisation and reporting on variances; Assisting in maintaining the donor contracts file and ensure compliance to all donor rules and regulations.


Qualifications

University degree in Accounting and working towards achieving a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CA; 5 years’ relevant professional experience with a minimum of 3 years in the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) sector; Experience in working with USAID / PEPFAR – funded projects will be an added advantage; Be in possession of strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to demonstrate detailed understanding of financial management, accounting principles and budgeting.
