Background

Zim-TTECH is seeking highly qualified and experienced applicants to fill the position of DREAMS Cluster Data Collation Focal Person in Lupane x1, Bubi x1, Nkayi x1 and Tsholotsho x1 in Matabeleland North province. Zim-TTECH's activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care and treatment of infectious diseases. Zim-TTECH is funded by PEPFAR through the Center for Disease Control to implement HIV & TB treatment and care services in five Zimbabwean provinces in support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) under the Zim-PAAC (Zimbabwe Partnership to Accelerate AIDS Control) program. The contract is for twelve (12) months effective October 2021 to 30 September 2022.


Position summary

The main objective of this role is to provide site-level strategic information and evaluation support to facility staff i.e DSD cadres and community-based cadres, ensuring timely and effective data collection, cleaning, analysis, use and reporting on program performance and periodic data review. Successful candidates will report to the respective DREAMS District Strategic Information Focal Person.


Duties and responsibilities

Supporting and mentoring facility and community based cadres to accurately collect, report, document clinical and non-clinical processes in facility registers and ZDIP/CommCare as per Standard Operating Procedures; Providing M&E support in clinical processes such as appointment diary management, filing and organizing client records to ensure complete documentation of all clinical & non-clinical consultations and visits; Supporting the collection and analysis of all custom/process data and MER indicators on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual basis and actioning on ad hoc data collection requests; Providing on-site coaching and level 1 user support for DREAMS DHIS2, CommCare and Power BI according to help desk procedures; Ensuring all electronic & mobile devices at facilities are well maintained, in good working condition and that all registers are accurately completed and stored securely at the facility; Monitoring and tracking device syncing to central server, ensuring that all CommCare forms and DHIS2 with captured data are synced weekly and each facility timely submits complete, clean, and quality data; Collaborating with the facility Sister-in-charge, DREAMS Clinical Nurses and Data Capturers in conducting facility level routine data quality audits and visualization of program data across core indicators to enable evidence-based programming and performance tracking against annual targets; Planning with fellow cadres on client appointments, follow-up visits and participating in weekly referral meetings, discussing identified challenges and sharing ideas for improvement.


Qualifications, skills and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Demography, Nursing, Mathematics, Public Health, Health Promotion or any other health-related field; Minimum of 3 years working experience managing, analysing and reporting health related program/project data and information and experience in working with DHIS2 data will be an added advantage; Excellent computer skills including but not limited to, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, formatting and statistical functions and formulas; Great inter-personal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; Experience in working with MoHCC and/or implementing partner in health-related programs coupled with a strong understanding of Zimbabwe health care system structures.
