DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish faith-based civil society organization. It was founded in 1922 by representatives of the Danish Evangelical Church, which continues to be a key DCA constituency. DCA is also supported by volunteers, supporters, and staff working hard to save lives in many countries. DanChurchAid supports the needy and the poorest of the world in their struggle for a dignified and better life and helps those whose lives are threatened.


The call for applications is in anticipation of funding for a project in Muzarabani, Mbire and Hurungwe. Completion of the recruitment process will be done when funding has been confirmed.


Position summary


The District Coordinator will provide leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for the timely and efficient implementation of the Project in the designated district.


Responsibilities


Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of DCA’s Project in the designated district; In collaboration with the team, develop as well as make use of detailed implementation plan (DIP) for the project; Ensure standards for enrolment of beneficiaries are met and that the most deserving vulnerable households benefit from the program and there is proper documentation and management of beneficiary data; Participate in the development of clear beneficiary targeting criteria and ensure they are clearly communicated to field officers, enumerators, and other relevant stakeholders; Ensure all project activities are implemented timely and in accordance with donor requirements and internal standards; Coordinate baseline and end line surveys, as well as regular data collection to track project outcomes; Ensure seamless coordination of field activities; In Consultation with the Team leader, represent DCA at different platforms related to all district events; Maintain a collaborative relationship with key stakeholders such as the District Development Coordinator, Department of Social Development, Councils, Housing and Community Services Department any other relevant government ministries and the private sector ensuring their active participation; Consolidate timely and high-quality project progress report on monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual bases for onward submission to the Team Leader; Document and disseminate learnings, best practices, and human-interest stories; Keep up to date with trends in the implementation of the project through DCA learning related platforms, journals, attending relevant trainings and self-directed study. Keep up to date with donor requirements for the implementation of the projects; Support the use of MEAL tools and practices in program development and implementation to ensure that projects activities, outputs and outcomes comply with the objectives and expected outputs/outcomes on an ongoing basis; Makes recommendations relating to work-processing approaches and procedures which would lead to more efficient programs & systems design; Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and mentorship to support staff performance; Ensure project staff adhere to the DCA Human Resources policies.


Skills and qualifications


Master's degree in Development Studies or Social Sciences; Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Disaster Management, or related field; At least five years relevant work experience. Experience in the humanitarian/ development INGO sector an added advantage; Good written and spoken English, Shona and or Ndebele; Able to solve complex problems through a reciprocal and consultative approach; Strong program/technical and budget management skills, planning, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation skills; Strong technical and operational understanding of rural development programming in a marginalized context; Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively represent DCA at forums and with donors; Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with senior internal and external partners; Ability to work in a team setting and function in a culturally diverse work environment whilst delivering desired results.
