Job Overview/Summary

International Rescue Committee is recruiting for 2 Social Workers. Under the supervision of the WPE officer the Social Worker will work as part of Women and Girls safe space Team and will be responsible for providing direct case management and psychosocial services, including group-based psychosocial activities through WGCC service delivery units to displaced women and girls and survivors of GBV, as part of IRC’s emergency response plan in (Chimanimani, Zimbabwe).

Major Responsibilities
The Social Worker shall: Provide age-appropriate case management to survivors of GBV, including assessment of client needs; basic crisis counseling; supporting clients in developing a plan to address their individual needs and safely implementing this plan; support to clients in pursuing services from other service providers as per clients’ wishes; Provide services to adolescent girl survivors of GBV, including case management, age appropriate engagement and decision-making by survivors, Do No Harm analysis, and safety planning; Provide group psychosocial support to women and girls, facilitate sessions focused on building awareness of different themes related to their wellbeing, safety planning, and deliver key messages on GBV; Provide essential information on available services and support survivors in navigating the referral pathways and accessing services; Lead age-appropriate and specialized group emotional services for adolescent girls through identified or established safe spaces; Carry out community outreach and awareness raising on available services and key messages on GBV; Identify concerns related to and support adherence to GBV referral protocols and GBV guiding principles, and bring these concerns to the WPE Senior Officer; Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders and other humanitarian partners and service providers; Document all program and client activity in an accurate and timely manner using standardized tools and forms; Complete weekly and monthly activity reports, according to guidance provided by the WPE Senior Officer; Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure successful implementation of WPE emergency response plan.

Key Working Relationships
The social worker position will directly report to the WPE Officer

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Gender Studies, etc.) and 1 year of relevant experience; Experience in counseling, social work, women’s health, or other related field; Clear understanding of and interest in the wellbeing of women and girls, and supporting their healing after the experience of violence; Understanding of case management, psychosocial support and life skills programming to promote survivor healing and recovery; Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients; Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting; Strong ability to maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, and work in a difficult environment

Salary Range: USD965 – 1,206
