Description :



Responsible for the development of plans for completing construction projects based on the allocated budget, work schedule and available resources as well as verifying progress regarding the settlement of Interim Payment Certificates whilst forecasting the final project costs at completion.
Under the Supervision of the Project Manager – Batoka Gorge Hydro-Electric Scheme, the Project Planning Officer – BGHES will carry out the following

1 Preparing, monitoring and updating project programmes.
2 Keeping records of significant events in respect of project programmes.
3 Preparing regular reports on programme performance.
4 Presenting reports on programme performance to stakeholders
5 Preparing forecasts and final costs for budgets and controlling the budget through a commitments register.
6 Monitoring and analyzing project trends and changes using qualitative and quantitative tools to determine the legitimacy and estimated impact on the project schedule and budget.
7 Reviewing total Project and Change Notice estimates to ensure accuracy of estimated costs for the scope of work at hand.
8 Verifying progress payments, final invoices, escalation and Forex calculations
9 Reading and understanding Project Schedules in order to ensure a true reflection of the Project progress and forecasted dates.
10 Verifying the impact of project changes to the Project Schedule.
11 Liaising with the Project Consultant on schedules, change notices, costs and payments
12 In liaison with the Scheduling and Planning Engineer, red-flag team members of all potential future delays using early-warning notices

• Five (5) ‘0’ level passes
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent qualification.
• Certificate in Project Management will be an added advantage
• Experience in Contracts based on the FIDIC Red Book conditions will be an added advantage
• Membership of a Professional Body
• Five (5) years of relevant experience.
