Programme Manager: Local NGO

A local NGO committed to providing psychosocial support to survivors of sexual abuse and gender-based violence would like to fill the vacancy of Programme Manager. Reporting to the Director, the incumbent’s key responsibility is leading the implementation of the organisations’ programmes.
Key Result Areas
Spearheading the designing, development and implementation of the organization’s programmes; Responsible for the supervision, monitoring and evaluation of the programme; Responsible for the overall quality of the programme; Contributing to the development of the organizational strategies; Production of annual work plans; Leading and facilitating the process of developing and writing programme and project proposals and ensures that they correspond with the organizational mandate; Advising the Director and senior management team on programme/project content, direction and implementation; Developing training manuals for the organization; Carrying out trainings and capacity building of programme staff; Managing staff by guiding, coaching, instructing and motivating; Conducting appraisals and feedback, team development and career perspectives with staff; Managing well-being of the staff; Ensuring appropriate communications, information exchange and sharing with field team; Developing and maintaining productive relationships with government, civil society organisations, donors and communities, among others through representing the organization at different coordination platforms; Supporting the role of the Finance Office in ensuring that the programme staff maintain an efficient financial controls, accountability, procedures and records; Supporting the role of the Finance Office in preparing budgets; Ensuring programme implementation and preparation of periodic reports
Relevant University bachelor degree in Social sciences; Master’s degree; Administration qualification or experience
5 years’ experience in a senior management position, preferably in the development sector; Knowledge of rights-based approaches to development an added advantage.
