Job Description

11.1Editing the Hansard and Committee Reports

11.2​Indexing all speeches and daily Hansards

11.3​Amending Hansard copy according to Members of Parliament’s instructions

11.4​Submitting suitable copies of Parliament’s Session to printers at regular intervals

11.5​Coordinating the production of the Hansard

11.6​Liaising with Government officials and the media on Ministers’ speeches

11.7​Maintaining a database of recordings of all debates made in the National Assembly and the Senate and in Committees oral evidence sessions and Public Hearings

11.8​Attending to Members of Parliament’s queries

11.9​Preparation of Corrigendum/Addendum of the Hansard

11.10​Performing administrative duties related to communication with the printers and attending to auditors with regard to production of the Hansard; and

11.11​Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Director Hansard

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

A Degree in English from a reputable institution
At least 5 “O” Levels including English Language and Accounts / Maths
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in editorial work
Excellent command of English
Knowledge of current affairs, parliamentary reporting and practices
Excellent records management
Highly computer literate
Good interpersonal skills
