Caritas Mutare is the development arm of the Catholic Church, diocese Mutare. Caritas Zimbabwe’s work is its ongoing presence in communities, before, during and after crisis situations as it empowers people to participate more fully in all matters affecting their lives, as well as advocates on their behalf at national and international forums.
The District Facilitator will play a pivotal role in advancing Caritas Zimbabwe’s objective to reduce suffering and promote early recovery and long term sustainable livelihoods for disaster affected populations. The primary role of the DF is to identify, manage, and develop strong and sustainable relationships with local government stakeholders to facilitate the smooth implementation of Cyclone Idai programs in the Districts.
Program/Project Coordination; Work in close collaboration with the Program Managers in establishing Emergency Relief and Recovery programs; Oversee and manage the distribution of NFI and Food item, mid-term recovery and long terms projects In the area of responsibility, work closely with district disaster sub-committiees, local government officials and Caritas Field Officers, Interns and Volunteers.
Ensure that all project documentation is completed timeously and verified before submission to the Program Manager; Manage and coordinate meetings and activities of Field Officers, Volunteers and Volunteers.
Assist in consolidating district and Donor reports as required by CI and Caritas; Control the Resources, transport system and issuing of fuel at district level; Integrate Just Work Place concepts and apply the Justice Lens to all working activities and relationships; Make specific suggestions to the Program Manager to reinforce the Caritas field operations in Line with CHS Standards; Input and collaborate with the Program Manager on budget management; Representation and Program Growth; Participate at partner coordination meetings with other donor agencies; Ensure that realistic project proposals that enhance/improve food security and Resilience, such as Food for Work (FFW) are developed and submitted to the Program Manager.
Supervise the Field Officers, Data Capture Clerks, Volunteers and Drivers assigned to work in the area; Conduct Performance and Development Reviews for all subordinates in a timely manner; Any other duties as delegated by the Program Manager.

The ideal candidate should have
A Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in the relevant field, a Postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage; 5 or more years’ experience in Disaster Response and Recovery Projects; Excellent interpersonal, liaison, oral and written communication skills. Excellent skills are required because of the need for regular progress reporting. Need the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences; Ability to administer andragogy; Good command of the English and vernacular language(s) is essential; Clean class 4 drivers licence; Computer literate with professional knowledge of Spread sheets, Microsoft Office and Outlook Suite applications including Microsoft Excel, Word and other statistical packages (SPSS) will be an added advantage; Strong analytical skills; Understands Catholic social teachings.
