Description :

The role:
 Contribute to the People Development strategy, standards and guidelines (including young talent (bursars and PiT), talent acquisition, leadership
 Set strategic direction of the young talent portfolio (bursars and PiT) in line with workforce planning and future skills and capability requirements of the
business i.e. SLP requirements, future world of work
 Assess, recruit and select students for the Anglo Coal South Africa Bursary Scheme through determining in conjunction with line management, areas of
skill shortages for development to be prioritised in bursary criteria and SLP requirements
 Manage external service providers (incl. Career Wise) and provide advice, guidance and motivation to bursary students, whilst instilling Anglo culture
and values
 Ensure the availability of a talent pool of graduate students for Anglo Coal South Africa as part of the technical talent pipeline to enable future growth
 Ensure the development, monitoring and updating of Training Programmes for Professionals in Training in line with best practices as well as identify
formal training courses in consultation with Anglo Coal South Africa Talent and line managers concerned
 Develop and implement Retention Strategies for Professionals in Training
 Develop adequate development programmes with heads of discipline and ensure quality programmes that produce high quality PiT’s.
 Facilitate rotation and moves of PiTs, design bespoke solutions based on development needs where necessary to ensure optimal engagement and
development of PiT’s
 Support the Heads of Operations with capability and market intelligence i.e. updates on attraction and retention of scarce and critical skills that may
inform Coal SA’s leadership development strategy
 Close interaction with Talent Management Specialist to confirm and ensure alignment of skills strategies (build, buy or borrow to ensure skills pipeline)
 Responsible for governance, policies and procedures within the portfolio i.e. Talent Acquisition, Psychometric Assessments, Employee Onboarding.
 Leadership Development for Band 6 and above – determine, manage and coordinate all new leadership development training for valued contributors
and liaise with Group and/or external providers where necessary to ensure appropriate interventions.
 Ensure economies of scale, interface and alignment with the ACTDS Divisional Training Department, where applicable
 BTech/ Degree in Human Resources or a related field (NQF level 7)
 Post-graduate degree in Human Resources or a related field (NQF Level 8) Advantageous
 AA Plc Safety Course: A3 Advantageous
 Minimum 6+ years’ experience in Human Resources or related discipline
 Extensive experience in the HR field with experience in Young Talent, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning and Leadership Development
 Experience in the mining industry will be an advantage
 Knowledge of relevant HR legislation (incl. SDA, EE Act)
 Knowledge of Anglo Coal, South Africa strategy and the Human Resources Strategy
 Anglo Coal South Africa HR Policies, Procedures and Systems
 Knowledge on the Anglo American Capability Framework
 Relevant HR Systems i.e. Applicant Tracking Systems
 Project Management techniques including determining goals, milestones and key tasks, and working efficiently to deliver these tasks and monitor outputs
 Advise on leadership development / talent acquisition / young talent systems, strategies and processes
 Analyse and synthesise data from multiple sources into a cohesive solution
 Capability requirements of the mining industry, including the knowledge and technical skills needed to drive high performance both now and in the future
