Description :

Reports to : Director International Communication Services
Station : Head Office


• Gathering material and generating multimedia content for international communication
• Developing programmes for public diplomacy
• Identifying opportune platforms for message placement in select markets
• Purchasing and filling slots for country Special/Profiles for target markets
• Gathering, processing and forwarding appropriate material and content sourced from within and outside the ministry for overseas markets through attaches
• Monitoring international news and coverage of Zimbabwe
• Drafting response to queries form foreign media
• Facilitating contacts between foreign press and players in the Public Sector and rest o Economy
• Liaising with business , tourism and other interest groups in support of Zimbabwe’s missions abroad

• In liaison with attaches organizing high profile persons and media visits to Zimbabwe
• Organizing media events with a foreign component
• Managing the media during state and official visits
• Maintaining an effective press clip service and archiving system
• Liaising with missions accredited to Zimbabwe (through foreign affairs) bilateral or multilateral issues
• Covering bilateral and multilateral meetings to keep the system abreast and to asses and meet communication

requirements thereof

• Developing background papers on bilateral and multilateral issues
• In liaison with the Zimbabwe Media Commission, handling accreditation requirements for foreign media
• Monitoring sites of all international organizations and lobby groups as well as providing draft responses to country reports (e.g. AI, ICJ etc)
• Coordinating communication on inter-ministerial responses to adverse international determinations such as fact finding missions
• Making draft contributions to international publications and journals


• Degree in International Marketing or Relations/ Public Diplomacy/ Political and Administration/ Journalism/ Communications and A minimum of two years of relevant experience
• Command of two or more UN languages would bean added advantage
• Must be outgoing and interactive
• Must be versatile and have high conceptual skills
• Strong communication skills
• Must be IT proficient
• Mature in any case above 30 years
• Clean class 4 drivers licence
