A local NGO is seeking to fill the position of Data Entry Clerk in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting department. The position is based in Chinhoyi.
Under the direct supervision of the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, the Data Entry Clerk is responsible for assisting the MER department in capturing data into the HB database from field reports and source documents. The ideal candidate must be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to the M&E Officer or another senior M&E team member. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory. The Data Capture Clerk shall provide accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.
Capture in data provided from source documents and reports; Verify data by comparing it to source documents; Update existing data; Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested; Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation; Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost; Perform any other work related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to time by seniors
The position entails that the job holder is office based. The position also requires that overtime be occasionally worked in order to be able to meet deadlines.
Knowledge, skills, and qualifications
Proven experience as data entry clerk; Fast typing skills; Excellent knowledge of MS Office package; Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices; Basic understanding of databases; Good command of English; Great attention to detail; Diploma/Degree in IT, Secretariat or equivalent; Work under pressure
