Zakes Bantwini’s Covid Tweet Backfires Badly As Mzansi Savage Him
Award winning musician, Zakes Bantwini was savaged on the Mzansi Twitter streets after a controversial tweet on load shedding and Covid.
The socially conscious Zakes Bantwini seems to have tweeted himself into a corner this time and tweeps took him to the cleaners.
This was after the musician tweeted complaining about the load shedding that has once again commenced in South with blackout hours being increased in some sectors
Zakes Bantwini claimed that he knows four people who were using the assistance of ventilators to breathe and have died as a result of the power cuts which renders ventilators useless.
The tweets reads
I know at least 4ppl who passed today, their ventilations stopped working because of load shedding. I wonder how many ppl lost their loved ones today because of load shedding, can we at least deal with one pandemic at a time pls #COVID19 #Loadshedding #Eskom
It seems Mzansi was not impressed with his information and most people accused him of lying, stating that all hospitals have generators which serve as backup in case there in power cut.

The musician had to clarify his statement saying he wasn’t talking about people in hospitals
“I accept that our realities are different, often times when ppl don’t understand/relate to something, they will label it as lies/absurd. No where did I mention the word hospital as that maybe be ur assumption/reality. Abantu bayafa bantu bakithi,asiyeke umdonsiswano ongathi shu”
Singer Simphiwe Dana then budged in with her two cents saying
“You must know very rich people that can afford to have ventilator operating personnel in their homes. It’s the only explanation. And I say this with all the respect I have for you. Our health system doesn’t need this”
It seems there will no rest for Zakes Bantwini in these Twitter streets.
