The curtain has fallen on actress Cindy Mahlangu, who was playing the role of Violetta on eTV’s Scandal.

Violetta’s exit from Scandal is one for the money, because it involves bullets and six feet under.

Cindy Mahlangu opened up on playing Violetta on Scandal, saying it was challenging for her, because she had to play a mean and cruel character

The character was very challenging for me. She’s so mean and doesn’t care about other people,” Mahlangu says. I had to learn not to judge the character in order for me to have fun portraying her. I judged the character from the minute I auditioned. I saw the brief and I thought, ‘not another bad character’. I just wanted to get a sweet character. I think one thing people don’t get is that I’m different to my characters” she said.

However, the actress said she learnt not to judge the character, because lets face it, Violetta is straight up evil.

Cindy Mahlangu confess that she originally wanted the character of Violetta to be sweet and not the vile girl, fans grew accustomed to.

However, the actress also said she is not like that in real life and sometimes the fans have a hard time understanding that.

Cindy Mahlangu said it was a bit of a challenge to balance her schedule, as she also has a role on The Queen As Siyanda.

When she was cast on Scandal, she was on a break from The Queen but now that Siyanda is back, it might have created conflicting filming schedules for the actress.
