Uzalo Detective Mpambani To Die As Actor Exits Show
After it was announced that actor Jet Novuka would be exiting Uzalo, the fans began to wonder if the nosy detective he plays, would go away quietly or with a literal bang.
It has been revealed that Novuka, who plays the thorn on everyone’s side, police captain Mpambani, will be killed off the show.
Uzalo spokeswoman Nomfundo Zondi, confirmed to Daily Sun that Captain Mpambani will be killed in his last appearance on the show.
However he’s still around for a short while, as Novuka is still filming until the 14th of May.
“But viewers will see him until 14 May,”“Captain Mpambani will be killed by Nkunzi, played by Masoja Msiza, in episode 50, which will be on 13 May. The viewers will see his body on 14 May. We expect action and emotions,” said Nomfundo.
According to sources, Captain Mpambani’s storyline was tied to MaNgcobo, played by Dawn Thandeka King, who is also exiting the show.
The writers allegedly had a tough time adjusting his storyline after killing off MaNgcobo.
Dawn Thandeka King will film her last episode on the 26th of April.
“But I can’t say he left because King left,” Nomfundo added
Uzalo fans have already expressed their displeasure at Jet Novuka leaving the show saying
“Uzalo writers failed this amazing actor his story line was weak but his acting was amazing as usual”
Other stars like Siyabonga Shibe who plays Qhabanga and Baby Cele who played Gabisile have also left the show, meaning a lot of gaps will be left.
However, there are reports that Uzalo is set to bring back some old characters, namely GC, the criminal duo of Mastermind and Mxolisi, bringing back the balance to the show.
