The River Angel Actress Nokuthula Ledwaba To Star In NEW Series

Actresses Nokuthula Ledwaba and Shannon Esra are set to star in an upcoming series on Mnet.

While the name of the series hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s confirmed that it will be produced buy Ochre Moving Pictures, which is responsible for shows like Scandal, Housekeepers, Rented Family, It Takes A Village among others.

The news was confirmed by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, who revealed that the series will be starring Shannon Esra, who plays a woman framed for murder by her husband.

Veteran actress, Fiona Ramsey will also be joining Nokuthula Ledwaba and Shannon Esra on the series.

Esra is the lead in the new series produced by Ochre Moving Pictures — about a woman framed for murder by her husband.

The @MNetseries also stars Ledwaba and industry veteran Fiona Ramsay. Starts January 2021.

Shannon Esra tweeted that she was so excited about the show, writing

Shannon Esra is known for her role on The Queen as as cutthroat lawyer Sandra Stein, she also starred on Isidingo as Angelique.

She also revealed that she’s never played a character like Sam before saying.

It’s been one crazy shoot. Still have 3 days to go. But so so proud to be on this astonishing show. Sam is like nobody I’ve EVER played. I’m obsessed with her and the entire cast. You’ll see!!

The actress also starred in Hollywood films like ‘I Dreamt Of Africa” alongside Kim Basinger.

Shannon Esra had a role in mini series The Triangle and rugby themed movie, Number 10.

Some may recognize her from SABC3 drama series, Hard Copy.

Meanwhile Nokuthula Ledwaba is well known for her role as Tshidi Khuse on Rhythm City, she was one of the original cast members of the show as well as one of the leading stars.

She also featured in hit series, The River as Angel (Angelina) in season 1,2 and 3.

Nokuthula Ledwaba is one of the few actresses who are open about mental struggles that artists go through in the industry.

The actress revealed at one point she wanted to die because of anxiety and depression but she’s in a good place now and ready to conquer the world saying.
