The Importance Of Taking A Gap Year
By the time you graduate from high school, you’ve been focusing on your formal education for so long that you’re completely burnt out, and yet most students head directly from high school to university courses. It can be healthy to take a gap year from coursework for a while to recompose yourself.
1. Discover a hidden passion
Whether it’s photography or organic farming, a gap year can help you find where your interests lays. It can help you discover your personal goals and then provide the resources to achieve those goals.
2. Prep for college
A gap year gives you the opportunity to be independent and mature. Most colleges show preference to students who display commitment, passion, and perseverance to something bigger than themselves. As well as giving you the time you need so you don’t burn out from going to university straight out of high school.
Gap-year travel is a great way to take a break from your studies and step out of your comfort zone. In the process, you’ll learn how to be more independent and responsible.
You’ll also have a chance to explore other cultures and have new experiences that will broaden your horizons. These are some of the benefits.
