A.        FACULTY OF AGRIBUSINESS

1.         DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

1.1        Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students research work and should be able to teach at least two (2) of the following modules:

  • Portuguese 1.
  • Portuguese 11.
  • French 1.
  • French 11.

Desired Qualifications

  • BA in French/Portuguese.
  • A Masters in French/Portuguese.
  • PhD in French/Portuguese is an added advantage.

1.2       Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students research work and should be able to teach the following modules:

  • Hospitality and Tourism Innovation Project.
  • Global Distribution Systems
  • Transport Logistics Management
  • Digital Tourism and Hospitality Marketing

Desired Qualifications

  • BCom. in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
  • MCom. Tourism and Hospitality Management.
  • Relevant PhD is an added advantage.
  • A tertiary teaching qualification is a further added advantage.

2.        DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students research work and should be able to teach the following modules:

  • Business Communication.
  • Business Communication Skills.
  • Academic Writing.
  • Public Relations.

Desired Qualifications

  • BA Languages and Communication/Applied Languages/Linguistics or equivalent with at least 2.1 degree class.
  • MA Languages and Communication/Applied Languages/Linguistics or equivalent with at least merit class.
  • PhD is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in Higher and Tertiary Education is an added advantage.

3.        DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students research work and should be able to teach the following modules:

  • Public Sector Accounting and Finance.
  • Taxation.
  • Practical Accounting Data Processing.

Desired Qualifications

  • BCom. Accounting with at least 2.1 degree class.
  • MCom. Accounting.
  • PhD is an added advantage.

B.        FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL AND PROCESSING ENGINEERING

Assistant Lecturer (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to supervise students on chemical and plant design project, initiate projects to fulfil Education 5.0 and teach at least two (2) of the following modules:

  • Plant and Equipment Design.
  • Separation Processes.
  • Reactor Design and Analysis.
  • Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics.

Desired Qualifications

  • BSc Chemical and Processing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registration for a relevant masters degree will be an added advantage.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

  1. Teaching

The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

  1. University Service and Community Engagement

       The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

  1. Research

The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

  1. Innovations

Innovations should lead to production of goods and services.

  • Industrialisation

Through commercialisation of goods and services.
