Job Description
We at South African Airways are looking for a specialist in Performance Data Analytics to join our team. They will be responsible for accessing and developing data-gathering protocols and presenting them to make the Airline’s progress towards its goals feasible. This helps to clearly understand and monitor performance drivers important to the airline sector, like Aircraft performance, OTP and Staff Productivity levels.
This Specialist will have to design techniques and processes that help analyse and reporting I’m important information frequently. Legislation and regulatory frameworks in line with the job will be considered, allowing South African Airways to operate and improve their planning and decision-making to gain efficiency at lesser costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Give input on the design of the Operational Excellence Strategy
- Implement the Operational Excellence Strategy in the area you are responsible for
- Recommend policies; action plans, processes and systems to support implementation of the strategy
- Conduct research into best practices against business requirements/challenges to optimise practices
- Optimise technology to help customer expectations internally and externally
- Drive optimisation programmes, initiatives and projects
- Analyse cost drivers and recommend department profitability
- Help control and management of budgets
- Gather and understand data needs from decision-makers, subject matter experts or content specialists
- Enforce Governance and Risk Management policies, processes and systems
Qualifications and Experience required
- Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics and any related degree.
- Three to five years experience in data processing, data modelling
- Three to five years of experience in Airline Operations or any other operating systems
- Must have Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience in distributed architectures relating to big data
- Proof of Experience with working challenging operational and commercial roles with a value-added focus
