Nellie Tembe’s Death Divides Mzansi: Follow The Debate Here
The funeral service of the late AneleTembe, fiance to the music star AKA, has ignited debate on social media after the deceased’s father made a speech that was somehow accusatory.
In his eulogy, Nellie Tembe’s father, Moses, vehemently refuted that his daughter had suicidal tendencies neither did she view death as the only way out of any tough situation.
Said Moses;
I was neither there when Anele met her fate last Sunday. I neither seek to attack any person, nor cast aspersions, nor create suspicions nor stigmatise any mental condition, however I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative go unchallenged. A narrative which is maliciously purveyed in some circles that Anele, my daughter, was chronically suicidal or had suicidal tendencies.
All I can say is that until she turned 21, Anele would not consider taking her own life as a solution. Not a single member of my family, Anele’s family will have ever associated Anele with suicide, it never arose. Living would have never been Anele’s challenge
As Anele’s father, I hereby state categorically that Anele was neither suicidal nor did she commit suicide
The speech ignited rage on Twitter with self-qualified Twitter psychologists dismissing Moses’ sentiments saying his daughter suffered depression.
But, there was another camp that sided with Nellie’s father saying as her father he would know his daughter better than random social media users.

They want Anele Tembe’s death to be a suicide so badly that they’re already discrediting her own father, citing how he didn’t know his own daughter…
Who’s paying them?

Anele Tembe’s dad: my daughter was not suicidal her death was a result of alcohol and drug abuse.
Twitter expects: “no she was depressed that’s her cause of death. you only knew her for 22 years we know her better, our parents don’t really know us” animeni maan 🙄

My interpretation is that Anele Tembe’s father is hurt, he is standing before us speaking at his daughter’s funeral. That is a painful experience, no parent should have to bury their child. He acknowledges that the public has been speculating and pushing their own narratives,

Kiernan will never be the same anymore and that is a fact, they’re low key blaming him for Anele Tembe’s tragic incident, i wonder how things are like off cameras, this is sad💔

What is it that makes people think they know Anele Tembe better than her father? Guys you only knew this girl off Instagram and that she was AKA’s fiance and that’s it. What’s this debate now? Why are you guys acting like you knew her? Yhooo no nine zothe.

So Anele Tembe’s dad is alluding to substance abuse. He knows his daughter best angeke siphikise but I hope he understands that depression and substance abuse can co-exist which can lead to suicide as well.

Maybe Anele Tembe’s father isnt blaming AKA, but hes just against the lifestyle he and Anele were living. Entertainment highly associated with drugs and alcohol. And also, Anele was a baby ku AKA. Probably wasnt happy with the age difference but had to be happy for his daughter

How do you reach such conclusions though. Now people are saying Kiernan/AKA introduced Anele Tembe to drugs and alcohol, and lead her to commit suicide, so he must be held accountable.
Do you guys hate AKA that much? What bad thing has he done to you to hate him so much. pic.twitter.com/HawtmQRuAR

Jus because your parents don’t know u doesn’t mean all parents don’t know their kids Anele Tembe’s father is not crazy he knows what he is talking about y’all only knew Anele from pictures. So there is no way u know her more than her own biological father.

What I’ve learnt about this Anele Tembe tragedy is that when depression talks, YOU LISTEN and you listen ALONE! No amount of fame, love, i-lobola, beauty… no amount of a life that’s promising can surpass your emotional battles. Depression demands to be felt! #RIPNellie

Anele Tembe’s father knows the autopsy results and if he says drugs then its drugs. You all saying depression with no proof and it doesnt make sense why you want it to be depression soo bad. Her family and her parents will talk when they are ready. Send condolences only pic.twitter.com/PYgJVlvrQN
