Director, Audit and Risk (1 Post)

This is a senior position which requires a highly qualified individual with expertise in auditing and risk management. The successful candidate will report functionally to the Audit and Risk Committee and administratively to the Vice Chancellor and should have a deep understanding and knowledge of University administration and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

The applicant should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Accounting/Auditing or Strategic Management and/or Corporate Governance;
  • A first degree in Accounting or Auditing;
  • Membership of CIA/ACCA/CIS/ICA/IFA/CISA will be an added advantage;
  • Must be a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors or other relevant professional body;
  • At least five (5) years experience in a supervisory role;
  • At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional auditing experience;

Deputy Bursar x 1

The Deputy Bursar reports to the Bursar.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial statements in accordance with IAS and IFRS;
  • Preparation of periodic management accounts;
  • Coordination of external audit;
  • Budgeting and budgetary control.
  • Authorisation of expenditure and approval of payments;
  • General ledger reconciliations;
  • Developing policies and procedures to improve efficiency;
  • Exercise professional superintendence over accounting staff in the Finance Department; and
  • Performing any other relevant duties assigned by the Bursar.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting or any other related field;

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Management, Administration or related discipline from a reputable university; and
  • The ideal candidate must have served as Assistant/Senior Assistant Registrar/ Senior Administrator or above for at least five (5) years in a university or educational institution.

    Qualifications and experience

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Sciences discipline such as Gender Studies, Sociology, Development Studies or a closely related field from a reputable university;
    • Master’s degree in the above areas from a reputable university;
    • At least two (2) years of working experience in a similar position;
    • NGO sector experience will be an added advantage; and
    • Strong familiarity with Gender Equality and Diversity Inclusion strategies.

 

Records Officer X 1

The Records Officer reports to Registrar.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First Degree in Records and Archives Management/Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies/Records Management or equivalent; plus
  • At least two (2) years exposure of records management in a University or similar work environment.
  • Good understanding of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts;
  • Knowledge of National Archives of Zimbabwe policies and procedures;
  • Advanced IT skills, experience of using MS Office applications and ability to use IT to achieve work objectives;

  • At least three (3) years security supervisory experience;

  • Computer literacy; and
  • A clean criminal record.

    • Diploma in Human Resources Management/Human Resources Development/Training Management/Industrial Relations from a reputable examination board such as IPMZ or HEXCO is a must;
    • A Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Occupational Psychology from a reputable university will be an added advantage;
