Mohumi To Return To The River As Lindiwe Loses Grip On Her Power
Veteran actor, Seputla Sebogodi is set to return to The River after guest starring in season 3.
This news was revealed by entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela who said Seputla Sebogodi, who played the role of Mohumi, is set to come back for a new story bloc.
Mohumi was one of The River’s villains during the better half of season 3 and he had a major storyline, where it was revealed that not only was he friends with them late Thato Mokoena, he was actually Tumi’s biological father.
After Tumi’s death, Mohumi seemingly faded into obscurity, but now it seems he is coming back with a bang.
With Lindiwe’s marriage to Zweli falling apart and everything going awry in her life, she seems to be losing her grip on power and this makes her vulnerable enough for her nemesis Mohumi, to give her hell.
Seputla Sebogodi’s appearance on The River’s third season was a much anticipated one and his grand entrance didn’t disappoint at all.
Seputla Sebogodi is well known for playing formidable villains, including his most prolific role as the diabolical Kenneth Mashaba, on Generations.
Sebogodi expressed that working on The River was a highlight and that he got the call after he had finished some work on Lithapo, where his character had been killed off.
“I got a call from The River, now that was the highlight of my year. I did not even audition for it, they called me. I am so honoured. They called at the right time, as though they knew. I am having a ball on this one. The scripts are well written, the treatment is like WOW”
The River show runner, Phathu Makwarela said at the time that is was such a blast working with Sebogodi and it looks like Mohumi is back for another showdown.
