Distell presents exciting opportunities for candidates with potential for placement in our Marketing Department, Southern Africa, in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will report to the Marketing Manager.

Purpose of the Position

The intention of the internship is to provide practical work experience to students who are in their final year of study and require exposure to the work environment or have a prerequisite to have practical work experience in order to obtain a qualification. Successful interns will be expected to enter into a 12-month contract commencing February 2023 and terminating January 2024.

Key Performance areas include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To ensure an effective and efficient admin support function/service to the Marketing teams in meeting the day to day business challenges
  • Ensure effective and accurate administration of all purchase requisitions and purchase on COUPA
  • Handling of payment queries and Capture monthly invoicing for payment
  • Flag issues outside of control of policies early, signal risk to quality and schedule
  • Assist with management of obtaining quotes for service providers
  • Effective Communicating and re-routing urgent matters for other people’s attention and follow-up
  • Consistently applied/complied with practices and standards (SOP’s)
  • Co-ordinate and assist with Capex requests and adhere to
  • Prepare and participate in monthly meetings
  • Have a system/register in place to ensure that all brand awards are documented and maintained
  • Control all procurement document processing
  • In-office support for out-of-office managers
  •  Assist Managers in managing diaries – Meeting and Adhoc function co-ordination
  •  Coordinating delivery and collection of all Dept related material
  • Control stationery and promo liquor receipts, issues, and stock
  • Complete travel-related requests according to policies and procedures
  • Complete requests for presentations, filing, document processing, and other ad-hoc  tasks

To qualify for selection and participation in this programme, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Final year of obtaining tertiary qualification – degree/diploma;
  • Computer literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Sound communication and presentation skills
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team
  • South African citizen
  • Able to travel locally and have own reliable transport
  • Successful interns will be expected to enter into a 12-month contract
  • Energetic professional with a high level of confidentiality
