INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN / ELECTRICIAN (FMCG Manufacturing Industry, Mutare) – A reputable FMCG Manufacturing industry is looking to appoint a qualified and experienced instrument technician/electrician to join their dynamic team. Willing to relocate to work in Mutare. The incumbent will be responsible for Installing, calibrating and testing a wide variety of industrial instrumentation such as load cells, control valves, transmitters, level controlling and regulating level, flow, pressure, speed, temperature etc. Installs new electrical equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications. Understands and applies blueprints and technical diagrams. Perform installation, tuning, and testing of new process controls and instruments. Installs safety and distribution components. Inspects the newly installed electrical equipment and machinery. Inspects and diagnoses electrical systems and components and carries out repairs or replacements. Tests electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning. Using scientific and analytic computer software to diagnose faults in machines or applications. Responds to faulty emergency and make timely repairs. Performs preventative and breakdown maintenance on electrical and control systems and components. Provides support for and maintain relationship with internal customers. Develop and maintain calibration “Standard Service Procedures” (SSP) documents. Calibrate and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, chemical, electrical, and electronic process controls and measurement instrumentation to approved procedures. Collaborate with engineers, process technicians and other plant professionals to design or modify equipment and processes. Assists in raising requisition for the spare parts when the need arises.

Completes in detail, all issued work orders for assigned tasks. Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests and documents related processes. Documents all the electrical and related tasks being carried out. Completes all required information and submits works orders for the repairs and maintenance done in the plant. Ensures compliance with national legislation and international standards. Complies with all Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations in area of responsibility. Follows and enforces strict safety regulations including correct use of PPE and tools. Carries out housekeeping and ensures the area of responsibility complies to set housekeeping standards. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety. Reports any possible hazards at area of work. Qualifications: A Degree, HND/ Diploma/ Certificate in Instrumentation and Control, Electrical Power Engineering or related and Class 1 Journeyman card.
