Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implementing and managing research projects in the Entomology skill group from the beginning to the end.
  • Compiling trial assessment data and generating trial reports.
  • Utilization of modern molecular tools to solve plant health problems.
  • Assist in producing technical publications from research data.
  • Timeously produce weekly, monthly and any other reports as necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance of the insect cultures for research trials.
  • Assist in administrative issues for Entomology.
  • Field visits to address farmer insect related issues.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A first degree in Biological Sciences, Biological or equivalent from a recognized institution with a degree class 2.1 or better.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting skills and sharp scientific acumen.
  • Innovation, initiative and willingness to execute tasks independently.
  • Team player capability and high level of confidence.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
