Gospel Singer Israel Linda Mosehla Has Died
In a sad development, award-winning gospel musician and singer, Pastor Israel Linda Mosehla died on Sunday night. He was 50.
The news of Mosehla’s passing was confirmed by his wife Millicent Mosehla. Speaking to TshisaLive on Monday morning, Millicent said,
“Yes, Israel has passed on,”
She did not shed more details on how the ‘Ke Utlwa Lerato’ hitmaker had died. However, she said that once a family spokesperson has been appointed, he/she would share the details with the media.
Mosehla was born to a family of worshippers in Soweto in 1970. The musician got an early start to Gospel music as his family released a series of albums in the 1980s with record label Gallow. Later on, the talented musician formed a gospel group called G. Effect with his brother, Isaiah Mosehla, and two friends — Bongani Matsobane and Jabu Nkabinde.
Eventually, he went solo and had a very successful career which saw him winning several awards, which include Best Praise Album for Praise and Worship Encounter with Israel Mosehla at the Crown Gospel Music Awards.
