Key Responsibilities

As a communication intern with Bioversity International, your role involves a wide range of responsibilities. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Development and Packaging of Materials: You will support the development and packaging of various materials in print, web, audio-visual, and multimedia formats. These materials are intended for donors, policymakers, farmers, consumers, processors, and marketers.

Project Documentation: Your responsibilities will also include providing communications support and documenting all project activities.

Information Dissemination: You will facilitate the dissemination of farmer-friendly information related to the HarvestPlus project. This involves activities such as feature writing, press releases, field days, and radio and television programs.

Exhibitions: You will organize and set up exhibitions to promote biofortified crops at various forums.

Photography and Video Coverage: Your role will include assisting in producing unique photography and video coverage for HarvestPlus events and occasions.

Training Videos and Interviews: You will support the production of training videos, and conduct informative interviews and testimonials aimed at promoting HarvestPlus interventions in Zimbabwe.

Graphics and Layouts: As part of your duties, you will develop and design concepts, graphics, and layouts for HarvestPlus promotional materials, including brochures, pamphlets, flyers, banners, and more.

Social Media Management: You will create and upload engaging social media content using graphics and illustrations to increase awareness and sensitization of stakeholders.

Social Media Monitoring: Your responsibilities will also include monitoring all social media conversations, mentions, and other activities, and providing feedback to questions and comments.

Data Capturing and Dissemination: You will engage in data capture and information dissemination on the EProd (Agricultural value chain Management Software) platform.

Other Duties: As assigned by your supervisor, you may be required to perform other duties.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you should have:

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, mass communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field
