All  students who  want to start a new SLP at Unisa must apply for admission. This includes first-time applicants, Unisa students changing to a new SLP and applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered placement.

It’s important to note that there is no application fee when applying for Unisa short courses.

Unisa will inform applicants of the outcome of their application by the end of January 2023 for semester courses and by the end of February 2023 for year programmes.

The university will also indicate which programme the applicant has been accepted and also the period for which they were accepted (i.e. semester 1 or semester 2).

All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required supporting documents

Copy of school qualifications (Matric certificate )

Copy of tertiary academic record (if applicable)

Copy of a valid ID document (South African students)

Copy of ID/Passport (International students)

Copy of Marriage certificate or divorce decree (if applicable)

Any additional documents as may be required for a specific Short Learning Programme

If your application is successful, Unisa will verify and capture the documents you submitted and do a temporary registration on your behalf.

Applicants have a limited amount of time to accept the placement offers from Unisa. The university will inform the applicant of this prescribed period in an offer letter. If students do not accept Unisa’s offer within the prescribed period of time, the university will withdraw the offer and give your place to another applicant.

Applicants must ensure they have a valid email address and working cell phone number. This is of the utmost importance, as Unisa will use these communication channels to communicate with applicants. Unisa called on applicants to only provide one email address within their applications.
