LOCATION: PANGANI DISTRICT, TANGA REGION, TANZANIA

BACKGROUND:

IUCN Tanzania is seeking a high-calibre Driver/Logistics Assistant to support the Tanzania programme office
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Administration Officer, the Driver /Logistic Assistant will provide administrative support and provide reliable and safe driving services to the Tanzania office team with high quality and accuracy of work, the highest standards of discretion and integrity and a high sense of responsibility.

JOB DESCRIPTION-SPECIFIC DUTIES:

The specific duties of the Driver/Logistics Assistant will include:

  • Vehicle maintenance;
  • Ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean and roadworthy;
  • Check vehicle condition/requirement and fill the Log Book properly;
  • Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of the assigned vehicle has taken place on day-to-day and report to supervisors on time;
  • Meet official personnel at the airport and make the arrangements for accommodation services;
  • Drive office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery/collection of consignment, pouch and other items;
  • Make field trips in/or out out-side Pangani;
  • Prepare monthly mileage summary with oil consumption and report to supervisor;
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, performing minor repairs and arranging for other related repairs;
  • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;
  • Perform all other related duties.

Clerical responsibilities;

  • Support and assist the Field officer in performing registry-related duties, such as photocopying, providing messenger services, scanning and archiving documents;
  • Provide logistical support to the finance and admin officer for the organization and preparation of all workshops, meetings and events;
  • Arrange the technical aspect of the procurement of equipment, furniture and office supplies
  • Perform all other clerical-related duties, upon request.

Other Duties;

Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by, and mutually agreed with, the line manager. REQUIREMENTS • POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education;

  • Holder of form IV certificate with the driving certificate from a recognized institution VETA or NIT.
  • The mechanical certificate is required
  • Clean and Valid Driving license.

Work Experience;

At least three-four years of continuous driving experience.
Experience in administrative work, preferably in an international organisation;

Language Requirements;

Good knowledge of English and Swahili is desired
