The South African Bulk Terminals (Pty) Ltd (SABT), a significant business division of Bidvest Freight, the freight management division of the Bidvest Group, invites eligible unemployed students to apply for their bursary programme.

Eligibility criteria for the bursary:

  • Students in grade 12 or matriculants (intending to enrol in their first year of Tertiary studies in 2023)
  • Currently enrolled full-time students in tertiary institutions who need support for the 2022 academic year.

Once you have received it, the bursary pays for the following expenses when you are a student at a tertiary institution:

  • Tuition fees.
  • Registration fees.
  • Exam fees.
  • Other study expenses that have the management of SABT’s permission.

Shortlisted applicants receive feedback, attend a panel interview, and they contact successful applicants.

SABT Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

  • South African citizen
  • Less than 35 years old (at the time of application)
  • Currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
  • Studying or intend on studying full-time in 2022
  • Studying or planning to look at a South African University that has been granted accreditation by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET)
  • Unemployed
  • Applications from students with disabilities are welcome.

Before submitting it, be sure to include the documents listed below. Your application will be rejected if any of them are missing.

  • A certified copy of your ID document is required.
  • A certified copy of your Grade 11 final results must be submitted.
  • If you are a Matric student, you must submit a certified copy of your most recent Matric results.
  • If you studied your tertiary academic on tertiary letterhead, please provide a complete copy of the record.
  • Provide a note from your doctor attesting to your disability.
  • You must provide a written motivational letter outlining your case for the scholarship.
  • You must provide a brief CV that is no longer than two pages.

Please take note that the PDF-formatted application forms must be supplied. Also, no paper submissions will be entertained (only emailed applications will be considered).
