Prospective students in their first to fourth years of study at the Tertiary level can apply for a Harmony Gold Mining Bursary to help with their studies.
Students who are in the following disciplines can apply for the Bursary:
- Geology or Surve
- Extractive Metallurgy
- Rock engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering-Heavy Current only
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Accounting
- Health Sciences
- Social sciences
- Information Technology
Requirements to apply for Harmony Gold Mining bursary:
- You must be 18 to 35 years of age
- Valid South African ID
- National Certificate with all subjects passed with above 60%
- Students planning to take on Engineering should have a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and Physical Science
- Students already at Tertiary institutions should have obtained an average of 60% and above in major subjects and have to attach current-year results
- Should be studying or planning to study full time
- Brief CV with a maximum of 3 pages
Particular preference will be given to:
- Core mining study fields
- Applicants from Harmony Gold Mining host communities
- Applicants from Harmony Gold Mining labour-sending areas
- Harmony employees dependents
- Disadvantaged people
