Prospective students in their first to fourth years of study at the Tertiary level can apply for a Harmony Gold Mining Bursary to help with their studies.

Students who are in the following disciplines can apply for the Bursary:

  • Geology or Surve
  • Extractive Metallurgy
  • Rock engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering-Heavy Current only
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Accounting
  • Health Sciences
  • Social sciences
  • Information Technology

Harmony Gold Mine bursaries are now open for application

Requirements to apply for Harmony Gold Mining bursary:

  • You must be 18 to 35 years of age
  • Valid South African ID
  • National Certificate with all subjects passed with above 60%
  • Students planning to take on Engineering should have a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Students already at Tertiary institutions should have obtained an average of 60% and above in major subjects and have to attach current-year results
  • Should be studying or planning to study full time
  • Brief CV with a maximum of 3 pages

Particular preference will be given to:

  • Core mining study fields
  • Applicants from Harmony Gold Mining host communities
  • Applicants from Harmony Gold Mining labour-sending areas
  • Harmony employees dependents
  • Disadvantaged people
