Actress Pebetsi Nolo Matlaila who plays the role of entertainment journalist Mokgadi Matloga on the SABC1 youth drama soapie Skeem Saam is thanking her lucky stars after she survived a car crash while fleeing from an attempted hijacking.

The talented actress is full of gratitude after she made it unscathed when her life was in jeopardy twice in the space of a few hours. Pebetsi revealed that the potentially calamitous incidents occured on Friday night when she was in the company of her husband and daughter.

Expressing her gratitude on image sharing social media platform Instagram, Pebetsi wrote,

“On Friday night (coming back from dinner with a loved one at the airport) my family and I were involved in a car accident while escaping an attempted hijacking. Besides the shock and minor injuries, everyone involved in the accident survived with no casualties reported, we thank God,”

However, because she is expecting, Pebetsi had to go to a hospital so that she could get checked out. Thankfully, both mom and baby were in excellent health despite the two traumatic events. Pebetsi was discharged from the hospital in no time.

“I rejoice and praise the Sovereign God because we’ve been discharged from hospital. We’re still in good health, including the baby. Material things can be replaced but life can be lost in a split second. But mercy said no. God reminded us of His power and protection, even when we’re not aware. I serve a living God, my family and I are all still good.”

“Feeling so grateful today! Thank God for my family (as strange as we may be together #realityshow vibes) they stopped everything to drive all the way here from their different locations JUST to come to check up on us after the Accident on Friday. And now we celebrate life and Praise the All-Mighty together. #blessed GOD IS STILL GOOD!,”

We thank God that Pebetsi and her family are safe and sound.
