Qualifications and Experience

Department of Environmental Health

Applicants must hold at least a relevant Degree that will allow them to teach in the following
areas of specialisation: Research Methods, Disease Prevention and Control as well as
Epidemiology. Holders of a relevant Master’s Degree may be considered for the post.

Post A: Environmentalist

Applicants must hold at least a relevant PhD Degree that will allow them to teach in the
following areas of specialisation: Environmental Engineering, Environmental Protection and
Health, Management of Solid and Hazardous Waste as well as Toxicology. Holders of a
relevant Master’s Degree may be considered for the post.

Post B: Information Management Specialist

Applicants must hold at least a relevant PhD Degree that will allow them to teach in the
following areas of specialisation: Indigenous Knowledge Systems in Health. Holders of a
relevant Master’s Degree may be considered for the post.

Post C: Spatial Analyst

Applicants must hold at least a relevant PhD Degree that will allow them to teach in the
following areas of specialisation: Geographical Information Systems for Public Health,
Geographical Information Systems for Health, Climate and Environmental Health as well as
Housing and Health. Holders of a relevant Master’s Degree may be considered for the post.

Post D: Health Systems and Policy Specialist

Applicants must hold at least a relevant PhD Degree that will allow them to them to teach in
the following areas of specialisation: Global Health, Indigenous Knowledge Systems and
Health, Public Health Administration, Health Systems and Policies, Health Systems
Management as well as Housing and Health. Holders of a relevant Master’s Degree may be
considered for the post.
