Job Purpose

The Communications and Public Relations Manager will be responsible for developing public relations content and strategies to strengthen the Higherlife Foundation brand (as well as our other sub-brands), and enhance engagement with all external stakeholders 

Qualifications and Experience

• 4-6 years’ working experience with 2 years in a senior position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Media/Public Relations or equivalent in related field
• Experience in media relations and/or organizational communications, and in using web/mobile/social media, print and public
events to deliver messaging
• Demonstrated success in coordinating focused PR campaigns towards desired results
• Ability to work, communicate and advocate with a broad range of stakeholders including employees, government officials, NGOs,
the media and community representatives
• Outstanding people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of partners
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Key Result Areas

• Ensures articulation of HLF’s desired image and position and assures consistent communication of image and position to all
stakeholders, both internal and external
• Develop and execute a cohesive and overarching PR strategy for Higher life Foundation, including key messages, key audiences,
tactics and measurement.
• Develop tailored PR strategies for HLF’s offices in Burundi and Lesotho
• Build strong relationships with media outlets in Zimbabwe, Africa and globally to support PR strategy
• Establish professional relationships and effectively communicate with the press, preparing press releases, features and
arranging for the placement of articles and features in local, national, and international media
