Community Technology Development Organisation
Community Technology Development Organisation is part of the ZRBF-BRACT consortium. The ZRBF-BRACT project was launched in October 2017 to support and contribute to thriving livelihoods by improving the absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacity of the local communities. The project is operating in a total of 29 wards (15 in Mutoko and 14 in Mudzi) directly aiming to reach 15,505 households. BRACT (Building Resilience through improving the Absorptive and Adaptive Capacity for Transformation (BRACT) of at risk Communities in Mutoko and Mudzi Districts of Zimbabwe) is a consortium of five partners (Silveira House, BIZ-Bio-Innovation Zimbabwe, CTDO-Community Technology Development Organisation and NCT-Nyahunure Community Trust and CA-Christian Aid).
BRACT aims at building adaptive, absorptive and transformative capacities of at risk communities in Mutoko and Mudzi districts through various interventions which include climate smart crop and livestock farming systems, construction and rehabilitation of productive assets, capacity building of communities on Disaster Risk Management and strengthening of community social safety nets.
With guidance from the Field Operation Coordinator the Field Officer will implement project activities as per set work plans. The Field Officer will be responsible for initiating and implementing comprehensive sustainable Community/District Resilience Plans within the ZRBF project framework. The Field Officer will seek to establish, operationalize and coordinate all project activities and components, that enhance community resilience, address food security, crop/livestock improvement, capacity building, appropriate technology development, testing, adoption, dissemination and scaling up. This will be achieved through the creation of a platform where resilience is prioritized.
The ideal candidate must have
- Diploma in Agriculture, with 1-2 years extension experience in the NGO, Private Sector or GVT fields;
- Appreciation and experience with resilience building will be an added advantage;
- Self-motivated, highly entrepreneurial and willing to work in Rural Zimbabwe;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Clean class 3/4 driver’s license.
